Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when I reach out to Upland Counseling Group?
Your first contact with Upland Counseling Group will be with our office manager, Bekah Moser. Bekah will be able to answer questions you may have regarding finances or insurance, and she will begin the scheduling process with one of our therapists.
What happens next?
Once you are scheduled with one of our therapists, you will receive an email with a link to an online site where you will complete intake and demographic forms, any necessary insurance information, and add a credit card to your file for payments.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Upland Counseling Group has in-network providers for the following insurance companies: Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, UMR, Aetna, United, and Encore. We do not have providers for Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time.
What are your rates?
If claims are submitted to an in-network insurance provider, the rate is based upon an existing contract between the insurance company and Upland Counseling Group. The rate submitted for insurance claims is not negotiable, but the out-of-pocket responsibility for you would be determined by the specifics of your particular plan. Copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance may vary depending on your particular plan.
Our private pay rate for anyone not submitting claims to insurance is $140 per session, but each therapist offers a limited number of scholarship rates for those for whom therapy would be otherwise financially prohibitive. You can speak to your therapist or the UCG office manager to discuss this possibility.
If your therapist is not in your insurance network, you may have the option to submit out-of-network claims to an insurance provider for partial reimbursement. UCG will provide necessary documentation for you to submit out-of-network claims to your insurance provider.
What are your hours?
Our therapists offer various hours throughout the week. Depending on availability, our general hours are from 9am-5pm. Some evening hours may be available by request.
How often will I need to come?
Typically, mental health treatment is one session per week, but some people benefit from bi-weekly or even monthly sessions. Occasionally, clients prefer to meet more than once a week. Insurance will not typically cover outpatient treatment more than one session a week, but if you are paying privately, you may speak with your therapist about this option.
How do I know if we're a good fit?
Therapy is primarily a relational process, so finding a therapist you connect with is important. Please contact our office if you have questions about the therapeutic experience.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, virtual sessions are offered through a secure, HIPAA compliant telehealth service and are available to any residents in Indiana.
